Culture Goes Europe e.V. (CGE) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization based in Erfurt, founded in 2005 and run by migrant-background professionals. Within the framework of non-formal education, CGE empowers participants and communities as active agents in their learning journey.
CGE has been working on developing teaching materials and implementing and evaluating pilot testing, as well as conducting research for several different European Projects (Erasmus+, Interreg, Horizon 2020, CERV), working with many partners from all around Europe. The range of activities of the organization includes promoting educational development and creative thinking, employability, participation, and an ICT mindset among youngsters and adults. CGE firmly believes that young people need a space where they can engage and interact among different groups, hence the need for diversity and inclusion in city planning and placemaking. Self-empowerment is such an essential factor in people’s lives that it can prevent radicalization and help mitigate gaps between other [groups of] people on a grass-roots level.
