Training of Trainers in Sabadell

 

September has arrived and all 4 DiverCity partners are now preparing for the Training of Trainers (ToT) activity that will take place in Sabadell! The preparation of the training materials has started. The thematic areas to be covered are public space and youth, public space and gender perspective, and tools and methodologies for participatory urban planning.

The importance of the ToT is crucial because of the upcoming local activities that will take place in the following months in Thüringen (Germany), Brussels (Belgium), rural Catalonia (Spain) and Athens (Greece). The local activities will focus on participatory urban planning workshops with young people (especially young women) in the local communities/neighbourhoods.

Young women are traditionally excluded from decision-making processes in the urban planning of public spaces. The main objective of the local activities is not only to actively involve them in the process and methods of urban planning, but also to imagine and demand neighbourhoods that meet their needs and desires.
